Miami is packed with incredible cafés and brunch spots, but I always love discovering those hidden gems that offer both great food and a relaxed vibe. Ocean Breeze Café had been popping up in conversations with locals and on foodie blogs, so I finally decided to check it out for myself.
With its prime location near the beach, I had high hopes for a breezy, laid-back experience with fresh, flavorful food. But was it really worth the buzz? Here’s my honest review.
First Impressions: A Beachside Charm
As soon as I walked up to Ocean Breeze Café, I could see why people love it. The location is perfect—just a short stroll from the beach, with outdoor seating shaded by palm trees and a light ocean breeze (hence the name, I assume). It had a casual, inviting feel, with wooden tables, string lights, and soft acoustic music playing in the background.
There was a small line when I arrived around 10 AM on a Saturday, but nothing unbearable. Within 15 minutes, I had a cozy seat outside with a perfect view of the ocean. The staff was friendly and welcoming, setting a relaxed tone for the meal.
The Menu: Fresh & Coastal-Inspired
The menu at Ocean Breeze Café is a mix of classic brunch favorites and tropical, Miami-inspired flavors. I loved that they emphasized fresh, local ingredients, especially in their seafood options. They had everything from acai bowls and avocado toast to lobster omelets and coconut pancakes.
After much deliberation (because everything sounded amazing), I went with three standout dishes:
1. The Tropical French Toast – A Sweet Slice of Paradise
I’m usually more of a savory breakfast person, but I had heard so many good things about their Tropical French Toast that I had to try it. And wow—I’m so glad I did.
Thick slices of brioche bread were soaked in a rich, vanilla-cinnamon batter and grilled to golden perfection. But what made it truly special was the coconut cream sauce, caramelized pineapple, and a dusting of toasted coconut flakes on top.
The first bite was an explosion of flavors—the sweetness of the pineapple, the creamy coconut sauce, and the slight crispiness of the toast combined beautifully. It felt like a tropical dessert disguised as breakfast, and I wasn’t mad about it.
2. The Key West Omelet – A Seafood Lover’s Dream
For my main dish, I went with the Key West Omelet, which featured fresh lump crab, shrimp, and creamy goat cheese, all wrapped in fluffy eggs. I have to say—this might be one of the best omelets I’ve ever had.
The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked, not rubbery or overdone like some places tend to do. The goat cheese added a tangy richness that complemented the sweetness of the crab and shrimp. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and it felt both light and indulgent at the same time.
On the side, I got a small serving of their roasted breakfast potatoes, which were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right.
3. The Ocean Breeze Iced Latte – A Must-Try Signature Drink
No brunch is complete without a great coffee, so I decided to try their signature Ocean Breeze Iced Latte. It was an espresso-based drink infused with coconut milk, vanilla, and a touch of caramel, topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
This drink was refreshing and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet but just enough to enhance the natural richness of the espresso. It felt like a tropical twist on a classic iced latte, making it an absolute must-try.
